Owen’s Pedagogy
Owen is proud to maintain a vibrant private studio, teaching pianists, theorists, and composers of all ages—from talented children and aspiring teenagers to passionate adults and motivated retirees. Drawing on over eight years of teaching experience alongside his extensive musical training, he cultivates an environment that balances rigor with curiosity and artistic exploration. His students consistently achieve top results in national graded examinations, with many going on to pursue music at a professional level.
At the core of Owen’s pedagogy is a commitment to fostering both technical excellence and independent musical thinking. Above all, he seeks to instill a lifelong connection to music, nurturing not only skilled musicians but engaged and thoughtful listeners.

COURSES OFFERED
Composition Course
A 12 week group online module on Tonal composition, based on style studies on the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras of works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin and more.
Students will get to share, evaluate, and enjoy works among classmates. Students will end the course with 3 completed pieces each.
*A foundation understanding of rudiments and harmony is required (recommended RCM Theory level 8+)
